My husband and I had an amazing meal when we stayed at Middle Beach Lodge in Tofino, British Columbia, and these appetizers have been a hit everytime I have made them myself for get-togethers.
The canape base is sliced cucumber.
- cream cheese (you can buy organic cream cheese made with quality ingredients; next time I plan to try these with goat cheese)
- a piece of smoked salmon or shrimp
- a small slice of red onion
- one caper
- dill, fresh if possible
